With what types of organizations does Strategic Interests work?

We have had the great honor to assist hospitals, health systems, provider systems, governmental and NGOs, healthcare collaboratives, early and established vendors, higher education, public health, health information exchanges and many others. Our focus is generally the nexus of healthcare and technology.

Why are you better than other consulting firms?

Several reasons! First, we are smaller and take great pride in getting to know our clients and their needs. You will not be delivered cookie-cutter services that are used over and over. When you engage SI, you will get customized service by skilled professionals who care about your goals and objectives. Second, we will perform our work at fair pricing, as partners in your success. Third, we use a blended team approach. This means you won’t be asked to hire a large group of full-time consultants you don’t require. We will provide only the skills you need and only for the amount of time they are necessary for your project to succeed. In other words, perhaps you need a full-time project manager, a part-time informaticist, an occasional solutions architect, and business development specialist for the late stages of your engagement. Great! We will have the right people parachute in and out of your project and you only pay for the services you need exactly when you need them.

How do you charge clients?

We can work with you based on your current needs. We have plans that are fixed fee, retainer, and straight hourly. At times, we will consider other arrangements that take partial equity when we think it’s a good fit for both you and us.

Pricing is generally determined by:

  • Scope of project
  • Specific requirements of the project
  • Skill set of consultants required
  • Complexity of the project
  • Desired timing

Do we really need consultants? Why don't we just do the work ourselves?

You could easily spend hundreds of hours or more doing the thinking, planning, writing, change management, development, etc. for any of your projects. You could also hire the people you may need to fill the gaps in the skills you don’t have and keep those folks on your payroll long after you need them. Or, you can leverage our expertise, benefit from our third-party independent insights into your business, deep relationships, and let us do the heavy lifting. We guarantee we will ask questions and raise points you didn’t think to ask, get the work done more efficiently, more economically, and with better quality. And when we’re finished, we either move on to your next set of needs, or shake hands and say goodbye until the next time you need us. No ongoing payroll costs. No hiring costs. No fringe benefits necessary.

Where are you located and do you work with clients outside of your area?

We are located in Rochester, NY but serve clients across the US and in other countries as well. Most of our clients are based in NY, FL, CA, and Israel.

What are your qualifications?

Our team consists of seasoned professionals from across healthcare and technology. We have been consultants at large firms, clinicians, solutions architects, CIOs, industry VPs, entrepreneurs, and professors. If you can think of an expert in healthcare or technology, we probably have one on our team or are one phone call away from bringing them onto a project.
